What are yoga pants?

Yoga pants (also available in a legging style) are pants designed initially for yoga, but now used widely for various forms of exercise. They are designed with athletic performance as the top priority. Specialized fabrics, durable seam construction, and other technical specifications allow you to make the most of every pose.

Yoga pants are easy to identify by the thicker fabric around the waist, which provides more comfort and support while stretching and performing various yoga positions.

Yoga pants have become more and more popular in recent years and can be worn in most casual situations. Many women appreciate the feel and streamlined look of yoga pants even if they’ve never tried yoga.

What is the difference between yoga pants and leggings?

Since yoga pants and leggings have become staple casual wear items, the difference between the two can be confusing. Traditional leggings are primarily intended for warmth and style, worn under a dress or shorts. Normal leggings can be made from a variety of fabrics, many of which are not sturdy enough to withstand an athletic workout. Do yoga pants shrink?
prAna yoga pants are made with high quality, durable fabrics that are invented and designed, tested and perfected, and ultimately built to last. To prolong the lifespan of your yoga pants, we recommend air drying after each wash. Air drying also prevents any risk of shrinking. Since all of our yoga pants are made from stretch fabric, they retain their shape from the first practice to the hundreth.

How to find the right rise for yoga pants.

Yoga involves forward bends, inversions, and plenty of twisting. Choosing the rise of your yoga pants can have a significant impact on the comfort and quality of your practice.

How should yoga pants fit?

Fit is not a one-size-fits-all endeavor, which is why we offer so many different yoga pant options. When it comes to rise level, each has its own benefits. To find which rise is best for you, consider both coverage and comfort.

Comfort is extremely important when choosing a pair of yoga pants. You typically want yoga pants to be lightweight and made from breathable material. You should also consider how you plan to use your yoga pants. Practitioners of Hatha or Kundalini yoga may want a looser-fitting pant. For those interested in doing some hot yoga, you’ll need some yoga pants that will wick away all that perspiration and don’t ride up as you move from one pose to another.

When trying on yoga pants, they should fit snuggly on your hips and waist, but at the same time they should not make your movements feel restricted. Keep in mind that pants which are too loose can also end up inhibiting your movement.
